Councillors

The elected council is made up of 10 councillors and the Mayor.  The Mayor is elected by popular vote for a four year term.  

Under the Local Government Act 2009, councillors have a responsibility to:

• Participate in the allocation of council's budget
• Play a key role in the review and creation of Council policies and objectives
• Review council's performance of service delivery to the community

Council will shortly convene a workshop to discuss the type and numbers of portfolios and the structure of committees that are considered necessary for service delivery. We will update the website once these have been decided.
