Major projects
Mackay is recognised as the fourth fastest growing region in Australia. Mackay Regional Council is embracing the challenge of delivering adequate services and lifestyle opportunities to its residents. It is an exciting period for Council as it delivers key infrastructure for a rapidly growing community.
Major projects currently underway include the Bluewater Lagoon, Bluewater Quay, Mackay Entertainment & Convention Centre and Mackay Water Recycling Project (MWRP). All projects are due for completion by early 2009. Council acknowledges the valuable contribution from the State and Federal Governments in delivering key projects.
