Who needs a registration?

All vehicles involved in transporting waste in Queensland for a fee or reward are required to hold a current approval with council.

A business that conducts the following activities are examples of waste transporters requiring an approval from council:

• The collection of skip bins containing construction and demolition waste and household items
• Residential waste collection
• Industrial and commercial waste collection
• Mobile wheelie bin cleaning services
• Waste paper collection

Note: Waste transporters of regulated waste also require a registration from the Environmental Protection Agency in addition to the council approval.
