Priority Infrastructure Plans
The purpose of Priority Infrastructure Plans (PIPs) is to:
- integrate and coordinate land use planning and infrastructure planning; and
- ensure that trunk infrastructure is planned and provided in an efficient and orderly manner.
PIPs are developed in accordance with the Sustainable Planning Act 2009 (SPA) and the Statuory Guideline Priority Infrastructure Plan and practice notes.
Public consultation closed on Friday 23 March 2012 for the amendments to include the PIPs into the Mackay City, Sarina and Mirani Planning Schemes. The time period for public consultation was Monday 12 February 2012 until Friday 23 March 2012. Council is reviewing all submissions and will respond to submissions as soon as possible. After responses to submissions are complete Council will proceed to the adoption process.
It is estimated that the Mackay City PIP, Sarina Shire PIP and Mirani Shire PIP will be adopted by mid 2012.
Infrastructure Contribution Planning Scheme Policies (PSPs)
Previous charging policies, PSPs ceased as of 1 July 2011 however, payments are being made on outstanding conditions. The PSPs are indexed quarterly.
