Camping

Mackay Regional Council operates camping reserves at Seaforth, Ball Bay and St Helen’s Beach, located in some of the region’s most picturesque settings. Powered sites are not available.

There are no bookings or reservations for council camping reserves.

Fees and charges

Fees and charges change every financial year. The current fees are as follows:

  • Per site 10X6 (max of 6 people per site) per night $21.00
  • Per site 10X6 (max of 6 people per site) per week $95.00
  • Additional Person(s) (adult or child) per night $12.00
  • School Groups/Non Profit Community Groups/Clubs per head/per stay $ 7.00
  • (All fees are GST inclusive)

Camping guidelines

  • There must be at least one person over the age of 18 camping at all times per site
  • Fees are payable to camping attendant on arrival
  • Maximum stay of up to eight weeks
  • A total fire ban is currently in force
  • No animals are allowed in the camping grounds
  • Generators are prohibited

Camping attendants

Seaforth and Ball Bay - located at Seaforth Post Office Store, attendants will visit the site daily to collect unpaid fees

St Helen's -  attendants visit site daily to collect fees
