There are many opportunities to volunteer your time in the natural environment.
You can get involved in plant propagation, weed control and tree planting at council's Natural Environment Centre.
You can also join one of the community groups that operate in the Mackay area and lend a hand at one of the regular working bees.
The Mackay Coasts and Communities Project provides opportunities for community members to get involved in managing our coast, in line with beach plans that have been developed for coastal areas.
Get involved in coastal management activities at your local beach.
