Community Meeting Room

The community meeting room is situated at the Gordon White Library, Phillip Street, Mount Pleasant.  The venue offers secure after hours access, air conditioning and a private courtyard.

Facilities include:

>Seating capacity for up to 50 people
>Data projector 
>Whiteboard
>TV/DVD/video equipment
>Kitchenette
>Tea making facilities
>Refrigerator
>Microwave
>Cutlery and crockery
>Wheelchair accessible toilets
>Tables (folding)

There are other meeting rooms and community halls available throughout the region.

Charges

Category 1 - Non profit community groups whose activities are compatible with the library’s role of developing print and computer literacy and supporting education and lifelong learning opportunities.  An annual booking fee applies.

Category 2 - Non profit community groups not in category one. Government agencies and service clubs. Irregular activities such as general meetings, special meetings and training.

How to book

Contact us to check room availability on the date/s required.

Complete and return an application to use the meeting room (PDF, 68 KB). 

Confirmation of acceptance of the booking will be given in writing on receipt of a completed application form from a complying non-profit group. 

The library reserves the right to accept or refuse any or all applications for use.

Terms and conditions

The hirer of the room accepts responsibility for the room and facilities used by the group.  After hours usage should be arranged in advance to obtain an access card.  Any security fees incurred will be charged to the user.  There is a ‘no smoking’ policy in all council buildings.

Group Study Room

A small study room suitable for meetings of up to eight people is available.  The study room is located at Gordon White Library.  A whiteboard, fridge, and tea making facilities are available in the room.    Bookings are essential.  Please enquire at the Gordon White Library for more information.
