LitVids 2.012

Litvids 2.012: Book Trailer Competition

Litvids 2.012

What on earth is a book trailer?  Well, think movie trailers...........then book trailers are the same thing, but they just get people interested in reading the book rather than watching the movie. So it’s a short film or animation which brings a book to life – on screen!

Are you between 12 and 19 years of age?  Interested in film-making or animation and would like to go in the running to win some fabulous prizes?

Then the LitVids Book Trailer Competition is for you!

The LitVids 2.012 Book Trailer competition will opened as at Friday 13 April, and closes Saturday 23 June 2012.

Download a registration form here. Once the completed form is delivered to your library or school, with parent/guardian signatures if necessary, (under 16's) you will receive your LitVids 2.012 pack with all necessary information and 1GB USB on which to submit your entry.

There will be two open workshops with noted Young Adult author and book trailer extraordinaire Tristan Bancks.

Wednesday 16 May 5.00pm - 7.30pm Gordon White Library (brain food supplied) Bookings essential!

Saturday 19 May 10.00am - 3.00pm CQU Tech Lab (lunch supplied) Bookings REALLY essential! This is a full day workshop using specialist software available at CQU. Attendees will have the opportunity to create and submit their book trailer on that day if they wish.

LitVids 2.012 winners will be announced during the launch of the Whitsunday Voices Youth Literature Festival on Wednesday 11 July 2012, at Whitsunday Anglican School.

LitVids is proudly sponsored by Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal, Central Queensland University, and Mackay Regional Council, and is part of the Whitsunday Voices Youth Literature Festival.
