Road repairs work schedule

Fortnight commencing May 7, 2012

Council continues to make good progress on its biggest road reconstruction campaign in history.

Our crews have used over 60,000 tonnes of pavement material and 2.3 kilograms of cement in restoring much of the sealed network.

Thanks to the joint Federal-Queensland Government Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements, an initial $106 million has been approved in the wake of the 2010 Cyclone Ului event.

Mayor Col Meng said council crews and contractors had made significant progress since February 2011.

“We are faced with the challenge of repairing almost 1,000 roads across the region,” he said.
