BEST OF THE BEE GEES SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER

Before purchasing tickets, please read the Terms & Conditions.

“I’ve never seen a more professional tribute to the Bee Gees with those beautiful harmonies which are so difficult to achieve. They have worked hard to reproduce the unique sound of my brothers.  So tastefully done.  Absolutely brilliant and I didn’t want to leave.  If you’re a Bee Gees fan, this is the concert for you.”   Lesley Evans (Gibb)

The Best of the Bee Gees honours the legacy of the Grammy awarded Saturday Night Fever double disco album at the Mackay Entertainment & Convention Centre on Saturday 24 August from 7.30pm, with special guests - child actor/original Bee Gees drummer, Colin “Smiley” Petersen and global chanteuse Roslyn Loxton.

In a two-act performance, the Best of the Bee Gees opens with the Greatest Hits spanning the decades, followed by a high-energy second act with the songs from Saturday Night Fever which defined the disco era.

The Best of the Bee Gees received standing ovations celebrating their Silver Anniversary nationally in 2023.  This year, you’re invited to Put on Your Boogie Shoes, white suits and frills and salute almost 50 years since the 1977 Saturday Night Fever release, with chartbusters from the Bee Gees, K.C. and the Sunshine Band, Yvonne Elliman, The Trammps and others -

Night Fever, Jive Talkin’, Disco Inferno, Stayin’ Alive, More Than A Woman, Emotion, Warm Ride, If I Can’t Have You, How Deep is Your Love and so much more.

Saturday Night Fever was the biggest selling sound recording between 1977 and 1980 with the highest daily sales of 200,000 USA copies, and topped the popularity surveys of Billboard, Cashbox and Record World.

Awarded the Album of the Year Grammy in 1979, the release stayed in the Top 200 for 29 consecutive months, and acknowledged Barry Gibb as the first solo songwriter in history to have three back-to-back #1’s and four songs in the Top Ten simultaneously.

Saturday Night Fever has since been added to the American National Recording Registry in the Library of Congress as “culturally, historically and aesthetically significant”, and Stayin’ Alive continues to make history as it features the first drum loop ever recorded on a pop music track.

Don’t miss this!!!! You should be Dancing the Brooklyn Shuffle with the Best of the Bee Gees Greatest Hits and Saturday Night Fever at the MECC on Saturday 24 August at 7.30pm, with special guests Colin “Smiley” Petersen and Roslyn Loxton.
